Andy Morgan

Andy debuted in 1974 as a junior, winning the Parker Trophy in 1976. In 1980 and 1987 was the league's leading outfielder. Captained the 1XI, winning the Northumberland Cricket League (1990), and the Birkett Cup (1991).

In 1991 over 3 consecutive games Andy and Brett Elliott registered partnerships of 214*, 111* and 63, a total of 388 runs before either player was dismissed. In a 1XI Cup match during the same period they also had a further partnership of 23* making it 413 runs in all games before their partnerships were broken.

Captained the club during its first two seasons in the NTSL following the change of league, becaming the first Ponteland player to score 10,000 league runs in 2005. Played his first 2XI game in 29 seasons in the opening game of that season. - However, this was due to the 2XI being the home side for the opening game of the season. As the match started Andy was on a plane flying into Newcastle Airport and missed the first 40 minutes collecting his bags!

Became Club Chairman in 2007 and was league chairman from 2009-2012. The club arranged a trophy at the club to acknowledge all his work and he was the first receipient in 2012.

Scored his third fifty of the 2018 season as stand-in skipper of the 2XI at Newcastle City. In that same game his unbeaten 80 made him only the third player to have 150 not out innings for Ponteland, passed 300 runs in a season for the 2XI for the first time and set a new 2XI 6th wicket partnership with an unbeaten stand of 108 with Ian Smart. Won the 2XI batting award as the leading run scorer for the season.

Played no games in the Covid-19 affected 2020 season, returning to action in 2022 when the 2XI were short at the start of September
