Made his debut in the rain affected Sunday match at Genetics aged 14. Started keeping wicket for the 2XI in his second game for the side before injury ended season. Moved to play senior cricket at Prudhoe during 2007 before returning to keep wicket in the 1XI in 2008.

Scored his first fifty for the Club in the Sunday side against Victorians during 2008 and the following week in his first senior bowl for the Club recorded figures of 5-20 against Alnmouth. During July scored 2 consecutive fifties for the U18s, the first player to do so since 1989 and shared in a Midweek 5th wicket record partnership with Matt Smart of 68 as the side won its first cup match since 2003. Was named best Junior at the AGM and received the Parker Trophy.

In the opening game of the 2011 season Dan took 3 stumpings, equalling the 1XI record for league matches and the first time a Ponteland keeper has taken 3 stumpings in an innings in the NTSL. Despite the rain during the 2011 season Dan broke one of the longest standing club records from 1973, the 1XI dismissals in a season, with his 25th in the final game.

5 Dismissals in the match against Bedlington in 2015 helped the side win a crucial relegation battle and set a 1XI record for the NTSL for dismissals in a match. 3 Dismissals in the second game of the 2016 season against Consett made Dan the most successful 1XI wicket keeper over taking Bernie Jones' total of 130 in 16 fewer matches. Became the first player to finish 99* for the club in 2021 at Whickham

Made his 200th dismissal in the 1XI against Stocksfield in 2022 then opening the batting scored an unbeaten 105, his first century for the club following a couple of 90s
