David joined the Club from Marsden for the 2007 season as an U-18. Debuted in the 1XI Fosters Cup match against Ashington. Shared in a match winning partnership of 64 for the 9th wicket against Whickham 1XI with Andy Graves during 2007.

Dave switched to spin bowling during the 2008 season, taking a hat-trick in the 2009 season for the 2XI, the first since 1989. Following a number of injuries to seam bowlers Dave reverted to seam bowling after 2 games of the 2010 season and took 10 catches making him the 2XI League's top fielder.

Appointed joint Captain of the Eagles with Ashley Parker for the 2012 season before reverting to be the vice-Captain in 2013. Coached the U15s to runners-up in their league in 2013 and was awarded the AW Morgan Trophy to acknowledge his work.

Became 1XI Captain for the start of the 2018 season and recorded his best season with the bat (208), ball (31) and for catches (8).

During 2023 became only the 8th player to take 200 wickets in the league for the 1XI
