Stuart Taylor

Debut for club as a junior in 1994, Stuart was soon in the 1XI. He left in 2002 for a season at Swalwell returning in 2003 and becoming 1XI Captain in 2004 recording his first League Century against Alnwick in August 2007.

Took the first known hat-trick for the Sunday Team bowling off spin against Riding Mill in 2007 and surpassed his own Sunday record score of 156 against Davipart with 169* against Kensington and Chelsea CC.

Took over the role of Club Welfare Officer for the 2010 season. Scored his 2nd century for the 1XI with 149* away at Ryton, the third highest score for the side and one week after Wayne Ritzema set the record against the same opposition. During the innings Stuart set two further records, becoming the first player to take part in 3 fifty partnerships in the same 1XI game (Paul Higginbottom had 3 in a friendly game in 2009) the 6th wicket partnership of 101* with Jonny Appleby passed the previous record of Andy Morgan and John Gardner by being an undefeated stand.

Took a career best 6-3 against Seaton Burn in the penultimate game of the 2010 season, after taking the first 6 wickets to fall an injury prevented him continuing.

In 2015 played in the Sunday team at Bamburgh alongside his father, Max who was playing his final game. On his way to scoring his 8th Sunday century overtook John Charleton's record as the top run-scorer for the side.

Injuries restricted his appearances in both 2017 and 2018 but 4 wickets at the start of the 2018 season made him the 9th player with 100 wickets and 1,000 runs for the club.

In July 2019 took part in his 21st century partnership for the 1XI the most for any player in the side (his 39th in all Ponteland games)

In August 2020 set a 2XI and club record partnership for the 3rd wicket of 208* against Percy Main with Harry Ash (who scored 107*). Stuart's 139* made him the first player to score centuries for the 1XI, 2XI, Midweek and Sunday sides.

Overtook Phil Ottaway's total of 5924 runs in his first game of the 2022 season to become the second highest run-scorer for the 1XI.

Took 5 catches in his first game of the 2023 season, a new Sunday Team record for an outfielder then extended his Sunday team records by becoming the first player to score 3,000 runs for the side.
