Jai made his debut aged 13 and 363 days in the Sunday team against St.George's Rovers with an impressive spell of 7.3 overs for just 6 runs and scoring 20.

Set an 8th wicket record partnership for the Sunday side of 75 with Dominic Smith in 2015 against Genetics then extended it to 83 with Mike Storer against Victorians in 2016

Played Saturday league cricket for Kirkley before moving to Ponteland for the start of the 2018 season, making his league debut in the 1XI against Alnwick.

Took career best figures of 6 for 26 against Whickham for the 2XI in July 2018 becoming the inagural winner of the Gardner Trophy for 2XI performance.

Scored his maiden fifty for the Sunday team against St.George's Rovers in August 2019, converting it into a 90 ball century. Also took place in two century partnerships in the match, the first time this had happened in the Sunday team history.

Appointed 2XI captain for the 2020 season. In the opening game of the 2023 season scored 141 opening the batting against Blaydon, the fourth highest individual score for the 2XI and won the Gardner trophy for performance of the season.
