Paul joined the club in 2014, debuting in the Eagles after 10 years out of the game, scoring his first fifty for the club with an 85 against Victorians in August.

Dominated a partnership of 137 for the first wicket in the 3XI with Simon Raw scoring 82* at Haltwhistle in 2015, the 6th highest individual score ever recorded in the side. Scored his first Ponteland century for the Sunday team against High Stables two weeks later.

Broke the long standing record of Mike Watts of 435 runs set in 1975 for a 3XI Midweek season with 3 games still to go in the season. Followed up with his first 2XI century 2 days later with 115* against Newcastle City. Became only the 15th player to score 1,000 runs in a season for Ponteland.

Became just the 29th player to score 1,000 runs for the Second Eleven during the 2018 season.

In May of the 2019 season Paul and John Lumb became the first players in 2XI history to record consecutive century partnerships together against Swalwell and Allendale and their 4th century stand together again the most for the side.

Retired at the end of the 2019 season returning for a couple of games in 2022 when teams were short on numbers
