Australian Anthony was 19 when he joined the club as the overseas amateur for the 2013 season, scoring 33 on debut in the 1XI, then scoring a century in the Sunday match at Bamburgh despite being jet-lagged. Struggled for consistency with the 1XI but showed his abilities in the Eagles, his 338 runs in 6 innings helping the side to win Division II.
Returned for the 2014 season and scored 91* for the Eagles against Kirkwood in the Eagles first game in Division I. Before scoring the highest score in Division 1 for the season with 119 against Old Record Players. Played Saturday cricket for Benwell & Walbottle in 2015 but continued to play for the Eagles and the Sunday side. |
