Joined the club for the start of the 2009 season having played 2008 at Benwell & Walbottle.Took 6-17 against Alnwick in only his second game for the side and 5-45 two weeks later at Whickham bowling a spell of 12 overs that conceded just 5 runs against Greenside, the third most economic spell ever in the firsts. Finished the season with 37 league wickets giving him fifth place in the league averages (the highest placed non professional)
Scored his first ever fifty in the friendly against Riding Mill in 2009 before going on to complete a 103 ball century with 9 fours and 5 sixes to win the game in the final over.
Appointed captain of the new Midweek side for the start of the 2010 season. Nicknamed the team the 'Eagles' due to local papers inability to spell club captain James Ealey's name correctly. Despite illness and injury in 2011 finished 2nd in the League bowling averages, again the highest non professional.
Moved to Swalwell for the start of the 2012 season. |
