A member of the U13s, Ryan debuted in the 3XI against Benwell & Walbottle in April 2013.

Became the youngest player to score a fifty for the Under 18s at 14 and 6 days then the youngest to appear in the 1XI in a league match at 14 and 9 days. Thomas Reeman overtook him as the youngest overall in a 1XI cup match the following week.

Scored his first senior fifty for the 2XI against Lanchester in a century stand with Rory Marr for the second wicket.

Scored his first century for the 2XI against Annfield Plain in August 2015 finishing unbeaten on 132, the highest score by a teenage in a senior match for Ponteland.
